Recognise the pattern

A pure sequence combines a run of three ranks with one shared suit.

Use two checks

First examine the rank pattern, then the suit symbols. Do not let an attractive card illustration substitute for these two checks.

A practice question

Compare the illustrated ranks with the same ranks drawn in mixed suits. Describe which feature changed before looking at the category list.

Check the ace convention
