Recognise the pattern

For a high-card hand, compare descending ranks until a difference appears.

A practice question

Start with two imaginary samples that share the highest rank. Work through the remaining ranks in order.

Keep classification first

Do not compare a high card with an unrelated category merely because one card is an ace. Read the whole hand before selecting the rank key.

Explain your answer

Describe the first differing rank and the selected rules. A useful learning explanation should be reproducible by another reader.
